Mojo Monday #341 – Cheers!

Here is this week’s very fun sketch from Mojo Monday:

And here’s my card:

When I was in 4th grade, Altair Designs coloring books were a thing with the girls. A coloring book and a set of 24 Flair markers were a sure-fire recipe for an entertaining lunch recess on a rainy day (and since I grew up in the Pacific NW, there were lots of those!). We spent hours, first carefully coloring the geometric designs, then showing them off to each other, vying to see who had made the most attractive or interesting pattern or picture out of the triangles. It is one of my earliest memories of discovering the joy of playing with patterns and colors. For some reason, when I saw the We R triangle paper that I used in this week’s card, it reminded me of hours spent coloring Altair Designs pages back in the day, and I immediately went to my happy place.

Once I had decided on the paper, it was pretty easy to choose the color scheme because the paper’s colors all worked together so well. I used the light yellow, orange, and aqua for the flags, used a scrap of orange honeycomb paper for the left card edge, and backed everything with a navy blue. The overall effect seems fresh and a little bit nautical.
