Fusion #8 — Colorful Chevrons

The inspiration photo at Fusion this week is very colorful and on-trend with its chevrons:

I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful colors in the photo, and also get a card made for Mother’s Day. Here’s what I ended up with:

Many of the people who played along this time really made the most of the colors in the inspiration photo, but for some reason I just wasn’t feeling the brights when sat down to work on my card, so I ended using a softer, but still colorful, palette. I used a paper from the Fancy Pants “Beloved” collection to incorporate the chevrons. The floral stamp was heat embossed, hand-colored to coordinate with the paper, then fussy cut out (which I think looks cool because of the way some of the leaves and petals extend past the square edges of the stamp). I used dimensionals to raise the center panel, and placed a small sentiment below it in the corner using a word window/modern label combo.
